The protected 18650 is an unprotected cell with a single-cell BMS module welded on to it and re-wrapped in an extra layer of transparent PVC. This is probably the best battery you can get to give your devices such as flash lights an incredibly longer life compared to the cheap or fake capacity cells you may have had to deal with. The added button top and module on the negative terminal make the cell longer, the total length terminal-to-terminal is about 70mm.

The Panasonic/Sanyo NCR18650GA is the larger capacity cousin to the NCR18650B. These come in two versions - the Chinese version with print and the Japanese Sanyo model. While both are supposed to be made to the same standards and quality, we try to stock the Japanese version whenever possible. Currently, we have the Japan model in stock in both protected and unprotected versions.

The cell has a stiffer slightly protruding positive terminal making it better suited for higher discharge applications than the 18650B.

It is currently one of the best priced high capacity cells on the market.
